Accelerated Reader

At CCES, we want to build life-long readers by instilling a love of reading in our students. To accomplish this, our students will again participate in the Accelerated Reader (AR) program designed to motivate students to read at their independent reading level utilizing a point system. A motivational system will be established in each grade level to recognize and reward students who reach or surpass goal points every grading period. At the end of the school year, students meeting goal points every grading period will be recognized at an awards assembly.
 
In addition to motivating students to read, Accelerated Reader provides accountability for student reading. ’s reading plan requires all students to read independently for 30 minutes per day at home and/or in class. Each teacher will provide time for independent reading during the school day, so students must come prepared to class each day with an approved book.
